10 Things People With Integrity Do Differently

Have you ever noticed the obvious presence of people of integrity? It is as if the air around them is attractive and true in nature.

“I would rather be true to myself, even at the risk of being ridiculed by others, than to be a liar, and to put up with my dislikes.” – Frederick Douglass

The cool thing is that you can achieve the same effect for yourself if you wish. Being an honest person is not easy, but it is something everyone should strive for. It requires honesty, sincerity and a strong sense of self.

These people are the role models we look up to. They are our most trusted companions, lovers, business partners, and Samaritans.

And they do things a little differently than the others.

Here are 10 things people with integrity do differently

1. If they give you their word, you can count on it.

Flaking is often a trait that no one desires. I used to be very fickle, always making plans only to break plans. But then I realized how that made me look.

People of integrity make sure others know that they are keeping their word. If they make a promise, you can be sure that they will follow through.

2. They know what is right, and are not afraid to defend it.

People of integrity are a bully’s worst nightmare. They do not tolerate insults or degrading language and are known to stand up for people who cannot stand up for themselves.

Their moral compass is accurate. They know what is right and what is wrong, and they have a deep conviction of balanced justice.

3. They live by the same standards they expect from others.

A key part of evaluating ourselves is measuring how well we practice what we preach. If we hold others to higher standards than we live up to, where is the justice in that?

Judging others is easy. People of integrity do not care about judging others, but rather their upbringing, even if it means acknowledging their flaws and imperfections. They are trying to grow like everyone else.

4. They take ownership of problems that are not their own.

Taking on the role of leader isn’t usually something anyone would want to do. When you are the leader, it means that you are responsible and accountable for what happens. Those with integrity know this and take leadership positions anyway.

Especially when it comes to problems that are not their own. For example, a person of integrity who hikes through the mountains might see a great deal of trash on the road and decide to pack it with them, even though the mess wasn’t theirs to begin with.

5. Choose to act sooner rather than later.

If someone is in trouble or imminent danger, a person of integrity is unlikely to wait for someone else to take action. They are the first to jump upside down in dangerous circumstances if it means helping someone else.

As NASA mechanical engineer Roger M. Puigoli, “If good and knowledgeable people notice wrongdoing and simply walk away to protect their own interests without trying to right the wrong, then they become part of the problem.”

6. They are very Modest.

People of integrity are always very humble, no matter their talent or success. They don’t believe in showing the world what they have, and would rather their actions speak for it.

Sometimes, they don’t even realize that they are those rare people who actually live up to society’s standards, and they truly are some of the best humans on the planet.

7. They believe in transparency.

Honesty and transparency are two things that honest people swear by, and in no way forget that. No matter how difficult or difficult the situation, they are always honest with themselves and others.

They despise lies, and they always tell the truth, even if it is the hardest thing for them to do. Deceit, lie, betray – people of integrity never stand up for these things.

8. They give credit when credit is due.

People of integrity never bow down like stealing someone else’s work or taking credit for something they didn’t do. They always make sure that the person responsible for the act gets credit for their hard work and talent.

These people understand the value of diligence and hard work, which is why they always give credit when it’s due.

9. They are people you can trust.

Another advantage of people with integrity is that they are very trustworthy people, and you can always count on them. It is their integrity that prevents them from breaking someone’s trust or betraying them in any way.
